A Solució senzilla és travessar nodes en Inorder i inserir-los un per un en un BST autoequilibrat com l'arbre AVL. La complexitat temporal d'aquesta solució és O(n Log n) i aquesta solució no garanteix l'alçada mínima possible ja que en el pitjor dels casos l'alçada de l'arbre AVL pot ser 1,44*log 2 n .
An Solució eficient pot ser construir un BST equilibrat en temps O(n) amb la mínima alçada possible. A continuació es mostren els passos.
- Travessa donat BST en ordre i emmagatzema el resultat en una matriu. Aquest pas triga O(n) temps. Tingueu en compte que aquesta matriu s'ordenaria ja que el recorregut en ordre de BST sempre produeix una seqüència ordenada.
- Creeu un BST equilibrat a partir de la matriu ordenada creada anteriorment utilitzant l'enfocament recursiu discutit aquí . Aquest pas també necessita temps O(n) ja que travessem cada element exactament una vegada i processar un element triga temps O(1).

Complexitat temporal: O(n), ja que estem travessant l'arbre dues vegades. Un cop en travessa en ordre i després en construcció de l'arbre equilibrat.
Espai auxiliar: O(n), l'espai addicional s'utilitza per emmagatzemar els nodes del recorregut en ordre en el vector. També l'espai addicional ocupat per la pila de trucades recursives és O(h) on h és l'alçada de l'arbre.
